The Long Goodbye

Have I ever told you Mother how much you mean to me? I know I have in words and deed but now it seems as the time grows short that all I’ve said  and done just isn’t enough. You have been my Sun, Moon and Stars, my world, and now more than ever my heart. [...]

Have a Giggle

It has snowed here for a few days along with a lot of ice and it got me to thinking of when I was a kid and the fun I used to have in this weather. Calvin & Hobbes is one of my treasured pleasures and I wanted to share it with you [...]

Sobering News

Below is part of an article that I just read and it has some startling facts that concern me and should be concerning to you as well. The United States is rapidly becoming the very first “post-industrial” nation on the globe.  All great economic empires eventually become fat and lazy and squander the great wealth that their forefathers have [...]

I had this restless, impatient, discontented feeling that I just couldn’t seem to shake.  The more I focused on it the [...]

The Lightbulb Moment

There comes a time when we all get a chance to practice what we preach and learn the lesson when we go against our own advice.  That is exactly  what happened with me this weekend. Please notice I said “with me” and not “to me” because I very much made the decisions here that [...]

Sometimes you’re the windshield,Sometimes you’re the Bug

There are times in everyone’s life when we feel like a bug on the windshield.
* It could be the day that your tire went flat in the rain and you were late for that improtant meeting.
* While getting ready for work you stubbed your toe,had a fight with your significant other and spilled coffee on your favorite shirt while starting the car that is out of gas.
* You could have also just lost your job or a relationship has ended.

Women & Weight Loss (the never ending battle)

As my 40th birthday approaches this June I am struggling with the fact that my body has decided to revolt and do its own thing in regards to my waist line. The clothes I could wear last summer are either too tight or I just simply can’t get them buttoned. I have been told many times that this is what happens as women get older. I have always vowed “Not to Me!” and yet here I am trying different workout routines and developing a love hate relationship with food.

What other’s think about you is none of your business.

I lived my life for years concerned with what others thought about me and caring so much that I would morph myself into what ever I thought would allow me to be accepted and liked. This led to some very poor choices on my part. When rejection came and it always did because I was [...]
